Rhythms of Hope Goal
Our fundraising goal for this event is $30,000, so buy a ticket to the live event, bid on the silent auction items, or make a donation that is meaningful to you. The money from this event will help our programs support those in need as well as expand to touch more lives.
Kathy Dunn Hamrick, Heartbeat Award Recipient
The Heartbeat Award is given to an individual or organization who embodies the foundation's mission to foster a passion for dance in a joyful, loving, and accepting community through performance, education, and preservation. Kathy Dunn Hamrick, an Austin Modern Dance icon, has done so for almost 30 years through her work with her Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company, her classes at Cafe Dance and higher education institutions, and in our community with her programs for children in foster care and adults living with special needs.
Kat Edmonson, Special Guest
We are excited to welcome songwriter and singer Kat Edmonson to The Art Beat Foundation Gala. The New York Times describes Kat’s music as “fresh as a spring bouquet.” Raised on the music of the early-to-mid-twentieth century, Kat is a rare artist who embodies the spirit of the past while remaining resolutely au courant. She has been featured on Austin City Limits, Tiny Desk Concerts, A Prairie Home Companion, and The Late Show. In addition to her own headline tours, Kat has gone on the road in support of Lyle Lovett, Chris Isaak, Gary Clark, Jr., Jaime Cullum, and Shawn Colvin, and has opened shows for Smokey Robinson, George Benson, Amos Lee, Michael Kiwanuka, Asleep at the Wheel, Nick Lowe, and Willie Nelson.
